“What struck me most [on my first visit to Jeannette] was not the poverty and hardships of everyday life, which were severe and very real, but the incredible faith and generosity of the people I met. They had a willingness to share what little they had with others and with the church. The exuberance with which they worship also moved me. Seeing the need, I felt called to contribute in any way I could to help the community reduce food insecurity, have access to clean water, education, and basic medical care.”
